Early in the morning, on my way toward Italy, I saw mist rising above the fields and a church emerging through it. I stopped at a parking area and had very little room to work with. A tree branch unexpectedly entered the frame, but instead of removing it, I used it as a natural foreground. It created depth and helped lead the eye into the misty landscape. Sometimes an accidental element becomes the part that makes the composition work.
