Prague seen from Charles Bridge at a very special moment just before a storm. From the beginning I knew that “Golden City” was the right title for this frame. Prague, often called the Golden City, was literally bathed in the warm golden light of the setting sun. The contrast between the illuminated architecture and the heavy storm clouds gives the photograph an extraordinary atmosphere and a feeling that something is about to change. This was one of those moments worth waiting for. I waited on Charles Bridge for the right light, and only about ten minutes later a storm broke over Prague. The photograph therefore preserves not only the beauty of the city, but also that brief moment of calm just before the arrival of the storm.
