I was wandering through Rotterdam on a cloudy day without much photographic inspiration when I reached this bridge. Suddenly the scene changed. Mist, light and architecture came together, and the bridge began to lead the eye into the distance. The buildings and lights disappearing into the background added mystery. It reminded me why I carry a camera: sometimes a photograph appears when you least expect it, and all you have to do is recognize the moment.
