While driving between Poland and Germany, I noticed a solitary tree and a rainbow through the rain. I took the next exit, returned to the scene and discovered there were actually two rainbows. Moving carefully until the tree sat between them, I found the composition I had imagined. Storm clouds, green fields and the two arcs of light transformed an ordinary roadside landscape into a moment I simply could not drive past.
